Separate a missing feature from a broken journey
First classify the symptom. No website field is an account-feature question; a saved link that returns an error is a destination problem; a working page with no purchases is a separate conversion question.
TikTok's linked Help Center article gives the current website-link requirements. Verify what your own account can use instead of treating a follower count or a simple Business-account switch as an automatic unlock.
Do not purchase followers to bypass eligibility. If the website field is unavailable, use only legitimate options actually shown in your profile and avoid promising a clickable link that visitors cannot see.
Give profile visitors a reason to follow
State who the account helps and what useful answers it will keep providing. Show a coherent set of relevant posts so the promise is visible, not just a large follower count.
Give one specific reason to follow, such as the next instalment of a practical series. Test following and website purchasing as separate goals.
Net follower growth divided by profile views is only an aggregate ratio: follows may happen on a video, and unfollows affect the numerator. It does not identify how many profile visitors became followers.
Make the promise match the destination
Replace a vague 'more here' with a concrete next step such as viewing a size guide or booking details. An illustrative example: a video about fitting a small room should lead to that product or guide, not an unrelated homepage.
Keep the offer, language and currency understandable when the visitor arrives.
Walk through the journey on a phone
Use TikTok's in-app browser and a normal mobile browser. Check readable text, usable buttons, total price, necessary fields and available payment options.
Stop before payment; no test purchase is needed to identify a dead link or validation trap. Write down the first obstacle and fix it before changing several design elements.
Build a mobile test log before changing the design
Create a row for each path tested: date, device, browser, campaign label, final destination, language, visible total, required fields, payment option, expected behavior, actual behavior and first blocking step. Check the TikTok in-app browser and an ordinary mobile browser separately.
A wallet that appears but does not open is different from an unavailable wallet. Stop before placing a real order; do not interpret that check as payment success.
Redact names, contact details and tokens from screenshots. For an actual failed customer payment, inspect authorized provider records rather than asking for card details or passwords.
Measure the handoff without inventing attribution
Use campaign tags that contain no personal data. Compare unique site visitors, product-page visits, checkout attempts and confirmed payments as separate events.
Consent and cross-browser transitions can create gaps; mark unknown sources honestly. Improve the largest verified obstruction, then compare equivalent periods.
Purchased engagement does not guarantee clicks or sales.
Worked example: four payments are not proof of four converted TikTok viewers
Hypothetical weekly worksheet: 200 unique website visitors with a TikTok campaign tag, 10 checkout attempts and four confirmed paid orders in the site's report. The arithmetic is 10 / 200 = 5% attempts per visitor and 4 / 200 = 2% orders per visitor.
These are aggregate ratios, not person-level conversion rates: attempts can repeat, buyers may have visited earlier, and orders need not map to those 200 people. Likewise, dividing website visits by profile views mixes different populations.
Only call something a linked visitor conversion when valid, consent-respecting identifiers actually connect the steps; leave unmatched payments unattributed.
Choose the next fix, and know when not to buy more metrics
If the link fails, fix its destination first. If visitors arrive but cannot find the promised item, change the landing page or wording.
If checkout starts but payments do not complete, inspect errors, total-price surprises and available payment methods before blaming the video. Confirm paid status from payment/order records, not a return-page visit.
Compare equivalent periods and note promotions, country mix, tracking changes and small samples. Optional BoostMaus follower or view packages deliver only their stated metric; they do not repair checkout, produce qualified buyers, unlock features or guarantee organic reach.
Keep any such purchase outside your organic-conversion test.
Hypothetical weekly measurement worksheet
| Recorded metric | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| 200 unique site visitors | Deduplicated visitors under the site's definition | 200 distinct TikTok profile viewers |
| 10 checkout attempts | Recorded attempts to start checkout | 10 different people or successful payments |
| 4 paid orders | Payment confirmed in order records | 4 of those 200 visitors converted |

Separate measurement, advice and commercial services.
Follower counts, video views, website visits and payments are different measures.
Compare defined periods and separate purchased activity from organic results. A change in a counter alone does not establish its cause.
BoostMaus offers services for supported public profiles and videos. Check the current product page for quantities, targets and delivery terms.
No service guarantees organic reach, sales or permanent retention. Check the selected product's refill terms.
