Make an asset checklist first
List footage, voice, music, images and any customer material. Confirm you can use each in this context; a track available on another platform is not automatic permission for TikTok.
Keep permission records. Credit alone does not establish authorization, and cropping or removing a watermark does not create ownership.
Choose one complete question
A long interview may contain several useful answers. Select one and keep enough setup to preserve its meaning.
For an illustrative gardening interview, extract the explanation of overwatering rather than an isolated surprising sentence. Do not edit a speaker to imply an endorsement they never gave.
Rebuild the mobile version
Use your original export where available. Reframe the subject, adjust captions for a vertical screen and replace references such as ‘click the link above’ with an accurate next step.
Check the opening and final action together. Reusing your own material still requires a coherent standalone explanation.
Publish and learn without evasion
Keep the original and adaptation notes so changes remain traceable. Compare the response to the viewer question, not raw cross-platform view counts with different definitions.
If TikTok issues a rights or eligibility notice, review the stated reason and available appeal; do not repeatedly disguise and reupload to bypass it. Paid metrics cannot fix a rights problem.
