Why did my TikTok follower count drop after a boost?

A lower total can reflect unfollows, account removals or removal of inauthentic activity. A before-and-after counter alone cannot identify which followers disappeared or prove that a particular delivery failed. Record dated totals, check the actual delivery status and review the refill terms attached to the order before requesting a remedy.

Record what changed

Keep the date, time zone, public profile link and visible total for each observation. Use the same observation method where possible.

Note whether the profile changed name or privacy status. Avoid publishing personal account details in public support discussions; use the private order channel.

Separate delivery from the net counter

Suppose a profile starts at 500, gains 100 follows and loses 80 during the same period. The final total is 520 even though the gross gain was 100.

Check possible causes without assigning blame

People can unfollow, and accounts may disappear. TikTok also states that it removes fake followers and likes when it detects inauthentically inflated metrics.
