Start with a record, not a shadowban theory
Before changing anything, record the post URL, publication time and time zone, audience setting, public count, analytics count and any exact warning text. Add the time of each check.
This is our diagnostic worksheet, not an official TikTok waiting rule. Zero is an observation: it does not tell you whether upload, access, measurement or distribution is responsible.
Keep the original recording and draft. Deleting the post now can remove the evidence needed to distinguish those possibilities.
Test whether the intended audience can open it
Open the saved URL and ask one trusted person, using an account allowed by your audience settings, to check it too. Ask what actually appears: playable video, unavailable message or login request.
Do not ask them to loop the video to manufacture views. If access fails, review the post audience and account privacy before editing the hook.
A login wall alone does not prove removal; a private or friends-only post is not a test of public distribution.
Follow the status branch before testing content
Check for an unfinished upload, processing message, review notice or explicit recommendation decision. TikTok’s content-violations guidance distinguishes review, removal and For You ineligibility; they are not interchangeable.
Save the notice and follow its available review or appeal route. Separately use Account check in TikTok Studio or the Safety Center to inspect account-function warnings.
A clean account screen cannot cancel a post-level decision. Menu names and availability may differ by region or app version; missing controls are not proof of a ban.
Compare counters without inventing a deadline
If the video plays normally, capture its public counter and post analytics at the same moment. Write down unavailable fields rather than treating them as zero.
Likes or comments alongside a zero view count warrant documenting a discrepancy, not naming an unverified outage. Choose a later comparison point and keep the interval consistent with other posts.
TikTok does not publish a universal number of hours after which zero views proves a shadowban. One refresh, or your own playback, is not a controlled measurement.
Worked example: two zeroes, two different actions
Hypothetical example, not customer results: at 18:00 a creator posts a tutorial; at 18:30 it shows zero views. A permitted viewer receives an unavailable message and the creator sees a review notice.
The next step is to preserve that notice, not buy traffic. In a second scenario the viewer can play it, analytics show activity and the public count remains zero.
Log both readings and report the mismatch if it persists. Neither scenario demonstrates that the tutorial’s opening failed.
Move to creative analysis only after access checks
When the intended audience can view the post, no relevant warning appears and the figures are usable, examine a small set of comparable original posts. Keep topic, approximate length and observation age similar, and change one creative element at a time.
This is an editorial experiment, not a promised algorithm reset. Once there are usable views, retention can help identify where viewers leave; at zero, a retention diagnosis has no sample.
Avoid mixing paid delivery into the same organic baseline.
Send a reproducible report and keep the purchase decision separate
For a persistent technical problem, use TikTok’s in-app Report a problem flow with URL, app version, device, timestamps, intended audience and actual versus expected behaviour. Attach redacted screenshots and mention whether other posts work; never include passwords or another person’s private details.
Keep the response and case reference. Troubleshooting needs no purchase.
BoostMaus options are optional only for a separate, supported deliverable: purchased views cannot complete an upload, overturn moderation or guarantee organic distribution.
Zero-view decision sheet
| Observation | Evidence to retain | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Cannot open the post | Audience setting and exact access/review message | Resolve access or follow the notice; do not buy traffic |
| Video plays; counters differ | Public and analytics readings at the same time | Log the discrepancy and report it if persistent |
| Video plays; no relevant warning | Comparable posts and usable analytics | Test content; no purchase is required |

Separate measurement, advice and commercial services.
Follower counts, video views, website visits and payments are different measures.
Compare defined periods and separate purchased activity from organic results. A change in a counter alone does not establish its cause.
BoostMaus offers services for supported public profiles and videos. Check the current product page for quantities, targets and delivery terms.
No service guarantees organic reach, sales or permanent retention. Check the selected product's refill terms.
